Co-operatives were established by the Moroccan government to ensure the traditional owners of the Argan forests, the Moroccan Berbers, remain involved in Argan production. The goal of the co-operatives is to provide employment and education on how to care for the Argan groves. The co-operatives are organically certified by Ecocert.
